Thanksgiving is around the corner and everyone is preparing to spend the holidays with friends and family. Although many are excited about the abundance of great food and company of loved ones, everyone is preparing for this holiday whether you’re hosting the dinner or you’re a guest. While most fashionistas are preparing to (attempt) to keep off the holiday pounds other are picking out their festive holiday outfits that will be stylish and comfortable. So we are here to give you a few tips on how to prepare for the Holiday even if you are a guest!

Comfort is Key
The holidays is all about being comfortable and enjoying your family, but let’s be real. Thanksgiving is about tons of amazing FOOD. By choosing an outfit that is stylish yet comfortable and has a little stretch, you can eat away without the evidence showing. So leave your hugging and tight fitting clothes at home.

Set the Mood, Set the Table
What is the holidays without the decor? When you’re hosting a holiday dinner you always want to impress your guest. And nothing says holidays like a warm home that smells of vanilla and cinnamon, with beautiful decorations throughout the house, and a lovely set table with a mouth watering thanksgiving dinner.

Keep off the Pounds
Just because Thanksgiving happens to be a big food holiday, you don’t have to be a party-pooper. Believe it or not, you CAN enjoy your meal and keep off the pounds! The secret is to try everything you want in an extremely small portion. Thanksgiving dinners typically have many side dishes so try a little and keep it moving! Trust me, you’ll be full sooner than you think.

Bring Something to the Table
If you’re attending dinner at a friend or family member ALWAYS remember to never come empty handed. If you can, bring your specialty dish to add to the table. But if you’re in a rush and don’t have the time to make something, you can never go wrong with a nice bottle of wine.

Consider Guests’ Food Preferences
When hosting a dinner, always ask ahead of time if there are any food allergies or provisions that need to be made. The last thing you want is for someone to be left out and not able to enjoy the meal. So double check to make sure you accommodate the vegetarians, those may have a nut allergy, or those who can only eat gluten-free foods.
