It may seem like October just began, but Halloween is approaching right around the corner. It can be hard not to just give in and go with your costume from last year, or to not even go at all. Resist the temptation to give into the easy way out, because we’ve got five costumes that you can score on short notice.
1. The Flower Crown Filter
Even since Desigual transformed its models into real-life Snapchat filters for New York Fashion Week, snapchat filters have become the hottest costume to recreate. Unfortunately, the makeup intensive look requires a lot of skill and a lot of time. Instead, go with the ever-popular flower crown filter, and wear your favorite lipstick and highlighter to emphasize the flattering features of the filter. Pull on a literal flower crown to complete your look, and everyone will be complementing you on the ingenuity of the idea, without realizing it only took you half an hour to pull it together.

2. Baseball Player
Take a note from the boys with this baseball player uniform. All it takes is a loose baseball top and your thickest knee highs or leggings, and you’ve got yourself a baseball playing uniform. Finish off the look with a baseball hat and white sneakers, and you’ll be giving a whole new meaning to the athletic wear trend.

3. Cat in the Hat
Dressing as a kitten with the furry ears and drawn-on whiskers is a Halloween staple for women, but it’s easy to upgrade the look by going as Cat in the Hat instead. Buy (or make) a red-and-white striped hat to add to your “kitten” look, and accessorize with a bright red bowtie to take your look from “kiddie” to “adult”.

4. Minion
The minion craze might be over, but there is always room for these fuzzy little creatures to make an appearance during Halloween. Pull on a yellow turtleneck and overalls (bonus points if you wear glasses too), and you’ll have yourself an outfit that you can wear for more than just Halloween!

5. Sleeping Beauty
It would be far too easy to put on a formal dress and a tiara and call it a day, so jazz things up by just changing right into your pajamas. Pull on your fanciest set of silk pajamas (perfect for the streetwear trend of wearing pajamas as normal clothes) and make sure to keep the tiara. You can walk around and yawn all night, all while referring to yourself as “Sleeping Beauty”.
